The story

Elliphant is Ellinor Olovsdotter, a Stockholm-born MC and singer from an Icelandic family. She signed with TEN Music Group in 2011 after meeting producer Tim Denéve at a party in Paris, and her 2012 single Tekkno Scene got her noticed well beyond Sweden. Scandinavian electro with a dancehall heart.

For Music Is Life she went to the source. The track was recorded in Sweden and Jamaica with Jamaican roots and reggae artist Ras Fraser Jr., produced by Tommy Tysper, and became her first official US single in the summer of 2013, around the time she signed with Dr. Luke's Kemosabe Records. It also sits on her Swedish debut album, A Good Idea.

Sebastian Reed directed the video in Jamaica: colorful walls, narrow streets, locals dancing, Elliphant performing in the middle of a road and at the foot of a waterfall. French music site Charts in France called the song a real declaration of love for music. The title kind of gives that away.
