The story
Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40 and Too $hort. Four West Coast legends in one supergroup called Mount Westmore – say it out loud and picture the faces on the rock. Big Subwoofer was their official debut single, released October 20, 2021, Snoop's birthday, after the four first performed it that April at Triller's Fight Club, on the Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren card. Kato and P. Keys produced the bass-heavy track. It led off Snoop Dogg Presents Algorithm, his first project after taking an executive role at Def Jam, and later the group's album Snoop Cube 40 $hort.
Directors Jesse Wellens and Sam Macaroni took the title and launched it into space. Snoop pilots the ship in Mandalorian armor while Ice Cube works the guns. They land on Planet Snoopiter, where Cube posts up at a bar straight out of the Mos Eisley cantina, E-40 dances with the three-breasted woman from Total Recall and Too $hort raps beside blue-skinned Na'vi from Avatar. The Dogecoin dog shows up too, because it was 2021.
Ice Cube said the group wanted a video for all ages, all over the world. There's a stripper pole on Planet Snoopiter, so results may vary. It still hit number one on Billboard's Triller charts, the group's first chart-topper. Four guys with nothing left to prove, building a sci-fi theme park around one oversized speaker.
