The story
Ozzy and Lemmy are hanging out at the Rainbow Bar and Grill on Sunset, playing an arcade game, when they get yanked into a post-apocalyptic hellscape. A winged demon has stolen Lemmy's bass and is escaping in a giant spaceship. An eyepatch-wearing space pirate who looks a lot like Motörhead drummer Philthy Animal Taylor lends a hand. Then they drop back into the bar and pick up their game like nothing happened.
The studio Hey Beautiful Jerk made it. Mark Szumski wrote the story in about three hours, Gina Niespodziani trimmed it tight and funny, and the team mixed 2D animation, puppet animation and effects work. They pulled from Fist of the North Star, Berserk, the X-Men cartoon, Ralph Bakshi, Rick and Morty, Fury Road and Mandy. The first designs went full late-80s cartoon, and Ozzy's people asked them to dial it back. It racked up about 8 million views across platforms in three weeks.
The song has a double life. Ozzy, Zakk Wylde and Lemmy wrote it for No More Tears in 1991, and Motörhead cut their own version a year later, the one that ended up in Hellraiser III. For the album's 30th anniversary, the two vocals got stitched into one duet. Ozzy said the clip immortalized his old friend. Two legends, one bass, zero chill.
