1.“I meant to type 'h&m' into Google because I was looking for faux leather boots, but accidentally typed 'hc' and this came up... and I'm not disappointed at all. Now back to my boot search, haha.”

The story
H.C. is the shortest thing on The End of That, the 2012 album by Montreal trio Plants and Animals. On the record it runs under a minute. Aimée van Drimmelen, an artist from Victoria, British Columbia, who makes art by day and music by night, turned it into an animated short about a minute and a half long, and she produced, directed and animated it herself.
Her raw material was hand-drawn imagery and looped Super 8 footage of light and shadows dancing across the surface of an old marching band drum. Kees Dekker did the sound design. According to a 2013 AI-AP piece, the song inspired her second animated short. A drum, some flickering light and a pencil. Plenty.
