The story

The Jackets are a garage rock power trio from Bern, Switzerland, together since 2008: Jackie Brutsche on guitar and vocals (she also goes by Jack Torera), Samuel Schmidiger on bass and Chris Rosales, an American expat, on drums. Matching black-and-white outfits, eye makeup straight out of the Alice Cooper school and fuzz-soaked sixties garage with nods to the Sonics and the Count Five. The Alps never sounded so sweaty.

Freak Out comes from Way Out, their 2012 album on Germany's Soundflat Records. Decoy Collective produced the video, which is bookended by a stern narrator warning the town's parents that some frightful menace is coming for their children and that the next victim could be anybody's son or daughter. Moral panic as a garage rock intro. One garage blog called the video excellent, and the band has been tearing around the world's stages ever since.
