The story

Valley Queen started in Los Angeles. Singer Natalie Meadors moved there from Arkansas, nearly gave up on the city after a year, and then met guitarist David Donaldson at an acoustic jam. They filled out the band with Neil Wogensen on bass and Gerry Doot on drums, and they pulled from Led Zeppelin, Duane Allman and Muddy Waters.

Carnival was the first thing they put out, the A-side of a debut 7-inch on White Iris Records, produced by Lewis Pesacov (Best Coast, FIDLAR). It's a smoky folk-rock stomper with spaghetti Western guitar and a big chorus, about a crew of Echo Park artists holding each other up. Director Angela Izzo shot the video at Black Stallion Studios.
