1.“I first heard this song at Qdoba while I was busy eating a taco bowl, watching the sauces drip all over my shirt and trying to figure out who the heck invented a taco bowl in the first place.”

The story
CHAMPS are two brothers from the Isle of Wight, Michael and David Champion, and Vamala is the title track of their second album, which Play It Again Sam put out in February 2015. According to Backseat Mafia, the word is what island fishermen call a sudden, dangerous storm blowing in off the sea. Good name for a record. Better name for a boat you shouldn't buy.
Animator Anna Ginsburg directed the video for Kate Moross's Studio Moross and did the stop-motion and hand-drawn animation herself. The Line of Best Fit described the brothers working through a run of odd stop-motion activities before dancers show up and lay geometric designs over the footage, bending the picture as they go. The credits also list choreographer and dancer Julia Vandoorne and a 3D motion designer, so there's more going on than paper and patience. The song got its own single release on May 4, 2015.
