The story
On April 15, 2019, Mike Posner started walking. From Asbury Park, New Jersey, to Venice Beach, California. On foot. 2,851 miles over six months. He said he wanted to become somebody he was actually proud of.
In August a rattlesnake bit him in Colorado. He got airlifted to a hospital, spent weeks in rehab, then got back out there and kept walking. He finished in October.
This video is the walk. Posner directed it himself from footage shot along the way, including the moment he reaches Venice Beach and puts his feet in the Pacific, and videographer Logan Meis edited it with him in LA once it was over. Posner wrote the song after losing his father, and producer Naughty Boy tied it to his own family's brush with illness. It's a song about cutting loose the habits that eat your days. He didn't just sing it. He walked it.
