The story
Pogo is Nick Bertke, a South African-born producer out of Perth, Australia, who makes music from other people's movies and TV shows. He pulls tiny bits of dialogue, melody and sound effects, chops them into rhythm and stitches the footage into the video. Disney noticed early: after his Alice in Wonderland remix took off, he was commissioned to remix sounds from Pixar's Up, and Pixar later had him do the first two Toy Story films.
Nicey Nicey, posted in February 2014, is his remix of The Mighty Boosh, the surreal British comedy Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding started on BBC Three in 2004. In that first series Howard Moon and Vince Noir are keepers at a falling-apart zoo called the Zooniverse, with a shaman named Naboo and a gorilla named Bollo. The show was already half musical, famous for its nonsense a cappella crimps, so Pogo had plenty to work with. The track landed on his 2014 release Younghood, and one fan on Bandcamp admitted it made them go watch every episode. Mission accomplished.
