The story
This isn't an official video. A fan uploaded it in 2007, labeled it a personal video, and laid Wax Tailor's Que Sera over footage from Metropolis, Fritz Lang's 1927 silent film. Good pairing. Wax Tailor is French producer Jean-Christophe Le Saoût, who builds trip hop out of old samples, and Que Sera first came out as a 2004 single before landing on his 2005 album Tales of the Forgotten Melodies.
Metropolis is the German classic about a city where the rich live up in the towers and the workers grind away underground, with a robot built to look like the heroine Maria whipping the workers into revolt. It's counted among the first feature-length science fiction films, and in 2001 it became the first film inscribed on UNESCO's Memory of the World register. Dusty samples, dusty film, and the two fit like they were made in the same basement.
